You are watching: Honda crv front license plate bracket

Howdy folks. I bought my CRV in a state that doesn"t use front license plates and recently moved to a state that does. So, I need to acquire a front license plate bracket. I would prefer the honda original. Any suggestions on where to find one? Anybody have one they don"t need? Is installation easy? There aren"t any existing mounting holes that I can find.

most cops won"t pull over suv"s for no front plate, its mainly something that cops will tack onto tickets when you"ve done something egregious like speeding excessively or street racing.if you get pulled over just tell the cop what has happened and that you didn"t know your current state had such laws. most cops will let you off and if not its usually a 10-20 dollar fix it ticket.

I would contact a local Honda dealer. If they don"t have one, you can order one here...http://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/honda/base-fr.-license-plate/71145-swa-a00-honda/The bracket is held on by self taping screws which punctures through the plastic bumper, hence the absence of preexisting holes.

What do I say when the cop asks me "Then why do you think we gave you two license plates?"

I figured the dealer would have them. I"m not super excited about "self tapping screws" going into plastic and foam. That hardly seems secure. Anyway, I spose there"s still a chance someone out there got one they don"t need. I"ll hold out for a bit and check with the dealer later in the week.Thanks.

Oh, and that"s a good find for the online source. I had searched a few places but didn"t find that part. Thanks again.

Oh, from the parts diagram, in addition to the screw, looks like there is also a bolt which secures the bottom of the plate bracket to the bumper.

Yeah, I don"t know for sure, but likely yes. All the more reason to check with a dealer. What I do know for sure is on my 2011, the plate bracket has two bolts which secures it to the bottom of the bumper, in addition to two self-tapping screws on the front.

as a former Police Dispatcher, i can guarantee you they could really give a **** less about you not having a front plate. cops look for people speeding excessively or driving wrecklessly, other than that they"re going to ignore you and your non-attached front license plate.
